Our Lady of Guadalupe Fiesta 2016: Friday, April 2, 2016 through Sunday, April 3, 2016 Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Hermosa Beach serving presents its annual: Fiesta 2016 Friday, Saturday and Sunday (4/1, 4/2, 4/3). Join the festivities: silent auction, live music, carnival rides, games, Mexican carne asada tacos, taquitos, &much more. In the Beer Garden guests can enjoy ice cold beer, wine and margaritas. Universe Multicultural Film Festival: Friday, April 1, 2016 – Sunday, April 3, 2016 – 11AM-7PM The Universe Multicultural Film Festival plays host to a fabulous array of movies and movie stars. The Festival will feature a stellar line-up of films from all over the world, cultural Fashion Competition event, filmmaker tributes, industry seminars, film market and Red Carpet Fashion show and gala receptions. There will be screenings and activities at four separate venues: Rolling Hills Covenant Church Community Center, Peninsula Center Library, Promenade on the Peninsula, and the Fred Hesse Community Park. King Harbor Brewing Co. 2nd Anniversary: Saturday, April 2, 2016 – 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM Local Redondo Beach brewery celebrates it’s second anniversary with some day drinking festivities on Saturday. An extensive taplist of at least 20 KHBC brews will be available to taste and drink along with some live music, BBQ, a dunk tank and a dessert pairing bar. Opening Reception at Torrance Art Museum: Doppelgänger: Saturday, April 2, 2016 – 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM The Torrance Art Museum is pleased to present Doppelgänger, on view from April 2 – May 28, 2016. Coordinated as a collaboration between German curators Dr. Julia-Constance Dissel and Sandra Mann, Los Angeles-based curator Ichiro Irie and Max Presneill, this exhibition explores similarities of practices that occur within globally expansive yet hyper-connected art production. The concept of the “Doppelgänger” emerges from German romantic literature at the end of the eighteenth century and refers to an entity that possesses the likeness of another—a perfect look-alike. Cherry Blossom Cultural Festival at Columbia Park: Sunday, April 3, 2016 – 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM Celebrate the season of spring at the fifth annual Cherry Blossom Cultural Festival. Enjoy live entertainment throughout the day including taiko drumming, Polynesian dance, traditional Japanese folk music and a concert by Mystic Wave. There also will be craft booths and food vendors.
